About Irene Smith

Irene Smith has been involved with computers since 1983. She has done a wide variety of computer-related jobs from simple data entry to programming. What started out as a hobby has turned into a life-long occupation.

A published author of fiction and non-fiction, including conceptual and reference materials for computer programmers, she is a former employee of Microsoft Corporation where she wrote documentation for their database objects from 1999 to 2003. In 2003, following her father's stroke, she moved back to New York State with her husband and son and returned to the life of a freelancer.

Gaming has been a prime enticement for Irene from the beginning. She bought her first computer in order to play games and still spends as much time as she can find playing computer games. In addition to playing them, she also writes computer games and, in 1994, she published three computer game packages (Solitaire, Dice Games, and Casino Games) through SofSource. You might have seen her games in K-Mart or Electronics Boutique.
